SAIL-Bhilai will strengthen the Ram temple; Supplying TMT bars

New Delhi: SAIL-Bhilai playing an important role in the construction of Ram temple, the steel products of Bhilai Steel Plant have given new power to the big projects of the country. From defence sector to infrastructure or rail transport, Bhilai steel is present everywhere. 

SAIL-Bhilai has been manufacturing high strength TMT Bars with anti-earthquake and corrosion properties for use in large projects of national importance like steel plants, dams, power plants, bridges, flyovers, expressways, tunnels etc. It has been supplying TMT bars of the required grade for use in the recent Ayodhya Ram Mandir construction project and also in the construction being carried out by Border Roads Organization (BRO).

So far, about 190 tonnes of TMT bars of 550D grade of various dimensions have been supplied by SAIL-BSP for the construction of Ram Mandir at present in Ayodhya. The production of TMT bars for this project has been done at both the modern Bar & Rod Mill and Merchant Mill of the plant.

The materials supplied include around 550 Ton TMT bars with 12 mm diameter of 12 D grade produced at Bar & Rod Mill and approximately 65 Ton TMT bars with 32 mm diameter of similar grade produced at Merchant Mill.

In the last financial year 2021-22, more than 610 tonnes of TMT bars of 500D grade of various dimensions were supplied by SAIL-BSP to BRO for the purpose of construction of roads, bridges etc. to ensure connectivity in border areas. The modern Bar & Rod Mill of Bhilai Steel Plant has produced 500D grade TMT Bars supplied to BRO.

The TMT Bars supplied to BRO include 350 tonnes with a diameter of 16 millimeters (mm), 120 tonnes of 20 mm diameter, 74 tonnes of 10 mm diameter and 69 tonnes of 12 mm diameter.
